My Dad, Ed Flickner, was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer when he was 84 years old. Although it slowed him down, he handled it with amazing dignity.
Late 2007, five (5) years later, near his 89th birthday, he became severely symptomatic requiring a short time in the hospital. Our wonderful doctor told us that the Cancer had metastasized. It was everywhere & time was short.
The next step was to In Patient Hospice care. They said we had a few days left with Daddy.
As it happened my sister & I had seven incredible weeks with Daddy before he died on March 12, 2008.
